LAMDA LESSONS

KATY OSBORNE

Katy is a West End Performer, Resident Director and Teacher.

​

Her work as a performer includes Mamma Mia, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, We Will Rock You, ‘BIG’ The Musical, ELF and Hello Dolly. She has appeared in the film ‘Mamma Mia 2’ along side Lily James, with ABBA at the ‘Laurence Olivier Awards’ and as part of the original cast of BIG The Musical on BBC’s Children in Need. Katy was the children’s director for the Original West End cast of ‘BIG’ and most recently the Resident Director for the play ‘Dial M For Murder’ staring Tom Chambers and Sally Bretton.

For the last 8 years, along side her professional career as a performer Katy has also taught musical theatre in London for the performance school ‘Stage by Stage’ and has taught LAMDA exam classes for the drama company ‘Roar Edge’, coaching children between the ages 5-18yrs. Katy has also held many dance and drama workshops around the UK and Internationally.

During her time in MAMMA MIA, London, Katy also went over to the Philippines to volunteer and teach disadvantaged street children from The Tuloy Foundation and has since returned many times to help build relationships for them with professional touring shows, resulting in numerous international productions leading workshops and

classes for the children of Tuloy.

Katy is a qualified LAMDA teacher and has been continuing to teach remote ‘one to one’ LAMDA lessons, either working with existing pieces or starting from scratch. THE LAMDA exam board are now starting to hold remote online assessments for those wanting to take an exam and work towards their next grade.

 What Is Lamda?

  • LAMDA ( The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts ) is one of the UK’s oldest and most respected awarding bodies. They have been offering practical examinations in communication and performance subjects for over 130 years

  • LAMDA, being a internationally recognised qualification, looks fantastic on your CV and builds valuable skills for interviews and public speaking

  • Grade 6 and 7 are the equivalent of a GCSE and Grade 8 is of A Level standard, which can be used as valuable UCAS points.
